Kodaikanal is one of the picturesque hill station and a great favorite among tourists. Situated at an altitude of 2133 m. Kodaikanal or Kodai as it is locally known is centered on a lake and terraced fields and is set in the Palani hills in southern Tamil Nadu. Besides being an ideal getaway from the heat and dust of the plains due to the pleasant climate the altitude affords, it is also for those who get their thrills from taking an occasional trek.
Madurai known as the ‘Athens of the East’ and "city of nectar", Madurai is the oldest city in Tamil Nadu and was home to the ancient Tamil Sangam, the literary conclave that produced the first epic, Silappathikaram. Today, it is known to produce the best harvests of jasmine flowers. One cannot ignore mention of the Meenakshi Temple, which is as well known for its architectural splendor as also a shelter, which inspired a thousand arts.
